Spring Break!

Eli and Bella were on spring break this past week, and we had a fantastic time doing all kinds of fun things all week long.

To start things off, Mamaw, Papaw, and Wesley came to town to celebrate Bella's birthday. Eli, Welsey, and Bella had so much fun playing together.


In fact, when we came home from Kid's Space and kite flying, and Eli actually realized that Wesley wasn't going to be able to play trains with him anymore, he was so sad that he sat down and cried. Poor little guy.
No worries, though. The sadness was short-lived as he changed into shorts and went outside to have fun with some of Bella's birthday gifts. We made some huge bubbles! What fun!
One day, we had breakfast at McDonald's followed by a fun morning downtown.


Grandma got Bella a birthday cake. This time, she blew out the candles on her own and didn't waste anytime digging into the frosting.

We played at Kid Venture and at Jump Zone. We had not been to Jump Zone in quite a while. This was the first time Bella went down ALL of the slides on her own. What a big girl!

Thursday morning, Eli and Bella woke up to find Uncle James sitting at the dining room table, eating breakfast. They were happy to see him!

We were able to join the playgroup we used to attend when we lived in Huntsville the year before last. Bella and I still go on some Tuesday's, but since Eli is in school four mornings a week, he has not been in a very long time. He was excited to be there.

We also spent some time with Momma.


Ever since I can remember, in the spring or summer, Momma would take me around yard, front and back, pointing out each flower, fruit, or vegetable she had growing. Now, it was Eli and Bella's turn for the flower tour. These were my favorite.
Eli, uninterested in the beautiful flowers, found it exciting to pull up grass. Boys will be boys.

At home, we spent a lot of time playing on the back porch. We had bubble tea parties, Eli and Bella played on the swing set and in the sandbox A LOT, and we even did a science experiment... elephant toothpaste. It was pretty cool.

One day, after playing at Kid Venture, we had lunch with Aunt Kathy. She gave Bella her birthday presents and had a gift for Eli, too.

Bella has been making this ^ face in a lot of pictures lately.

Eli was very fond of his new cars from the moment he took the wrapping paper off of the box.

One night, we all had dinner at Rosie's. For some reason, we always seem to take pictures when we go to dinner there. I haven't quite figured out why.

Eli and Bella also got to spend some time playing with Landon and Emma, their cousins they haven't seen in a while.
Having Eli and Bella with me the entire week made me miss the days when they were both home with me all the time, or when Eli only went to school two mornings out of the week. In thinking about Eli starting kindergarten next year, I can already say that Eli will not have perfect attendance his first year of school. I mean, it's only kindergarten, right? What will I ever do with him at school ALL DAY? That's just too much to even think about right now.
